Bootstrap provides residential subscribers with a 5-gallon bucket and lid. Over a week, you fill it with coffee grounds, egg shells, bones, tea bags, veggie matter, old memories, etc. Anything goes except meat and dairy products. A week passes. You leave the bucket on your doorstep, back stoop, side yard, wherever you decide; Bootstrap picks it up and leaves you with a clean new bucket. The cost: $8 per week.

But what if I travel a lot? Or barely cook? Or live alone? We got you covered with our twice-monthly service. The cost: $18 per month.

If you’re a business or throwing an event — we gotta talk. Rest assured though, Bootstrap will do its best to haul any amount, anytime, be it on our backs or bikes. And regardless of your composting habits or needs, please ask us about our long-term plans. If you sign up for several months we’ll cut you a sweet deal.

Lastly, all active Bootstrap customers will get back a portion of their scraps in the form of usable compost 10-15 weeks after their initial deposit, and up to 15 lbs a year. Houseplants love this stuff. Sprinkle an inch on the top soil and look out! Or garden with it. Or create dirt bombs for that unsightly lot in your neighborhood. It’s yours, after all. Enjoy it as you please. And if you don’t want it, we’ll donate it for you to local school and community garden projects.
