Compost tea is the resulting liquid of compost stepped in water, ideally with the aid of an automated aerator (air pump). A spot of the stuff on flora and fields has been shown to boost microbial activity in plants (bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes) thereby suppressing disease and improving nutrient uptake. Toward making these benefits readily available — while demystifying the stuff, we hope — Team Boot has created the kooky Tea Boot: a burlap sack (aka, the tea “bag”) and a supply of compost. You supply the air pump, water and 5-gallon bucket and we’ll bring the rest, including detailed instructions. Become a compost tea brew master with Bootstrap, for just $26!
